Laura Heer
Career at Streichenberg
What are your expectations for your internship?
I hope to gain deeper insight into legal practice during my internship at Streichenberg, as well as the opportunity to actively contribute across various areas of law. I aim to apply the knowledge I have already acquired in a targeted manner and to continuously develop my legal skills through constructive feedback.
Why did you choose to do an internship at Streichenberg?
Before starting my trainee year, I worked at Streichenberg as a legal assistant for one and a half years, which allowed me to become well acquainted with the firm and my colleagues. What I particularly appreciate about Streichenberg is the breadth of its legal expertise: the partners and lawyers cover a wide range of practice areas, enabling me as a trainee to gain diverse insights.
What fascinates you about the legal profession?
As my background is originally in German studies, I am particularly fascinated by the central role of language in the legal profession. Much depends on how a word or a legal provision is interpreted. Small nuances can lead to entirely different arguments and outcomes. I find this interplay between precise language and legal reasoning especially compelling, as it combines analytical thinking with linguistic precision.
What expects junior associates at Streichenberg?
Trainees at Streichenberg are not assigned to just one partner; instead, they can get involved in all areas and are actively encouraged and guided. This gives them a broad insight into the different fields and activities. They have contact with clients and authorities, learn what is needed for a court brief, and how to compose a successful legal document. This requires a desire to learn, flexibility, and absolute reliability.
